How Qualyy rates

A score out of 100, the same rule for every product. Qualyy, the CookinBreak service, reads the label for you, with no partner brand and no promoted product.

Nutritional quality 55 pts

The official Nutri-Score, refined by its detailed score (estimated by Qualyy when missing).

Additives 18 pts

Each additive takes points off according to its risk level.

Environmental impact 10 pts

The Eco-Score: the product’s environmental impact.

Processing 7 pts

From unprocessed (NOVA 1) to ultra-processed (NOVA 4).

Organic label 6 pts

An official organic label.

Palm oil 4 pts

No palm oil.

When data is missing

The criterion counts for half and the score’s reliability drops: it is shown under the score. A high-risk additive caps the score at 49; without nutrition facts, it is capped at 60.

Your food profile

With your CookinBreak account, Qualyy checks every product against the allergies and diet in your food profile (the same as on the recipe website). The products you analyse and save are kept on your account, nowhere else, and are deleted with it.

Product recalls

Qualyy checks RappelConso, the official French recall website, every 3 hours. A recalled product is flagged on its page, in your products and in the list of current recalls. Recall details are published in French.

The barcode reader

The barcode is read by your browser, on your device: no image leaves your phone or computer, only the product number is sent.

Where the data comes from

From Open Food Facts, the open, collaborative food products database (ODbL licence). An incomplete or wrong product page can be fixed directly on Open Food Facts: the Qualyy score follows.

A CookinBreak service

Qualyy is part of CookinBreak, the recipe website: the same account, the same food profile and the same shopping lists. In-store mode ticks off your list as you scan, and every product you analyse or save is checked against current recalls.
